To Win Today...

Hey world, I’m back.

Fuck losing weight.

Fuck it all.

My new goal is to get my athlete back. The person who can walk around holding her head high, knowing that she could take any comer.

Last week, I went to yoga every morning, and ran 2 miles to and from CrossFit each day. Best week ever. This weekend I’ve been working hardcore on giving myself more stretch marks with all the junk I’ve been stress-eating as I study for finals that are this Tuesday and Wednesday, but that’s life.

I know I need routine. I know I need to push myself. Week after this one, I start a “Maymester” intensive class that’ll be three hours of class per day. This just begs for order, schedule and routine. Sweeeeet. Also, I’m not going to buy a parking permit, so it’s either take the bus in or ride my bike the 9 miles. Hopefully I’ll be doing the latter more often.

WOD + yoga

Today’s WOD was 3 rounds for time, of 40 stick jumps, 30 abmat sit-ups, 20 35# OHS, and 5 wall walks.

It went crappy. Worst workout I’ve had in weeks. Low energy, low focus. BUT, it got done. So congrats me :).

This evening I did an hour class of sort of power yoga/vinyasa (called “Yogaworks-inspired) and it was lovely.

How to succeed in life:

 1. Studying for each of my classes. [CHECK]
 2. Cleaning the bedroom (It’s actually still pretty clean! But it’s right at that threshold where there are just enough things out of place that it could start to go downhill. [CHECK]
 3. CrossFit + yoga (even if it’s just 20 min yoga) [HALF CHECK]
 4. Posting more on Tumblr! I need to scan the dash for like 15 minutes for a little information, post and get out though :) [CHECK]

So I wasn’t able to work the yoga in, but otherwise I made a little bit of progress in every area I wanted to today!

In order to keep moving forward, I want to keep the balancing/juggling act going. If I let something fall, I’ll lose a lot of forward momentum stopping to pick it up and get everything organized again.

Plus, being appreciably behind in even something as trivial as laundry brings on stress that becomes ever-present. And that, is no good.

Feeling proud of myself for two awesome days in a row. < Random happy dog face :) >

Up to 9 days of NOTHING on the floor in the bedroom. Pretty sure I’m approaching being in the running for some sort of Nobel prize for that…

Multi-tasked by reading neurophysiology while on the spin bike. (Also keeps me from being put to sleep by neurophysiology)

Downside: I forgot my sunglasses today and so the white sky gave me a nauseating headache, so I missed WOD. Upside: I made it to strength and know where I’m at for my front squat.

Now, 8:30-9:30 I plan on spending with Rodney (Yee) yoga-ing in the kitchen, in bed by ten.

2.5 mile run to

11:30 CrossFit

classes, and then

5:15 yoga.

AND ate about 1300 calories and had plenty of energy and felt happy all day!

It took about a week, but I feel like I’ve got a pretty good handle on my eating how. How much to eat when, and what to eat when. Getting more protein (141g today) throughout the day, and working on upping fiber (31g today). Also kept percentage of calories from fat under 20%.

Gearing up

Back at the box for the first time in… 3 weeks?-ish tomorrow, and T - one week until 6 Week Challenge at Crossfit. Searching out some inspiration in tumblr-land to start getting psyched up.

Also I started stocking my paleo pantry today and thought I’d share the following:

 • Sunbutter coupon, print as many times as you like, good through October (save $1)
 • Almond Breeze almond milk coupon (save $1 off 2)
 • and since ^that one is a manufacturer’s coupon, you should be able to combine it with the one Whole Foods is offering right now (aseptic only) if you shop there
 • Maranatha Nut Butters (save $1)

AAAAAND: Completed Day 2 of the Active.com beginner Half Marathon plan. Woop!

Tonight: Some Shiva before bed :)

I am often unsuccessful.
As is every single other human being on earth. All (near-as-makes-no-difference) SEVEN BILLION of them.
I will embrace every failure, every fall off the wagon, and every instance of complete apparent stupidity- thankful for the lessons they contain. Take what is good, leave the bad behind.
Here’s to working for increasing the consistency of success and the enjoyment of good habits.
…and SMILE :), even if you don’t feel it.

Running partner says that he cannot move until someone says the magic word (d-i-n-n-e-r), and until then he’s holding down the living room rug.
2.65 miles, 25:45, 293cal, avg HR 162bpm. Still snow. Had to cut the run a lap (1.2 miles) short, because at the end of my first lap the light had become such that is was getting difficult to judge the slippery-ness of the ice and snow, and pushing my luck seemed like a poor life decision.
Also did Rodney Yee’s hour long power yoga today, maybe a bit of Shiva Rea before bed.

Alternately ticking off the to do list, and procrastinating.

The procrastinating this morning is looking up some yoga advice:

 • Tips for chair/fierce/powerful pose
 • Warrior 1 is pretty basic, but I always have trouble with my back foot, and wonder about what I should be working towards (apparently horizontal front thigh, for one)
